More Multimedia
I first saw this I believe during last December’s SFBAPPA Digital/Multimedia workshop. Honestly all of the talks and workshops sort of jumble together, but I know I saw it, and thought it was awesome. It is a multimedia flash package put together by the people who later brought you the Not Just A Number project. I love the interactivity, especially being able to drag and drop cassette tapes into the tape player to hear different musical pieces.

Multimedia Monday – Late Again
I can’t exactly remember if it was the last NPPA flying short course or the last SFBAPPA digital/multimedia workshop, but I do remember Dai Sugano standing in front of an audience and playing video clips of 311′s Creatures For A While and also an Evanescence song. Dai explained that he gets his inspiration from a variety of media, not just other journalists.
One of my favorite inspirations is, of course, not really in the field of journalism, sort of. It IS a popular magazine, as well as a popular television show, though the subject is not news, but rather, cars.
I love watching Top Gear for its cinematography, its sweeping pans, filters on the camera lens, and soaring aerial shots.
Easily one of my favorite episodes, so much more happens after part 1 of this Youtube clip, including a run-in with the police and a caravan fire.
You can find more episodes of Top Gear and the related Fifth Gear on the fansite Final Gear.
Multimedia Monday … on Wednesday
So is isn’t exactly Monday. That is okay, I still want to keep track of work that I find inspiring. This week, it is a piece on a Lego building contest done by fellow St. Cloud Times intern Breanna Roy.
I am incredibly thankful that there is another intern who is focused on video and multimedia as well as photography. We have definitely fed off of each other’s creativity and shared ideas about stories, editing, effects and interviewing techniques among other things.
It is worth noting that at the University of Montana, where she goes to school, Breanna is a broadcast journalism major, though I am trying to change her mind.
