Gammell stays young with the River Bats

Definitely one of my favorite assignments this summer. My photo editor, Dave Schwarz, suggested I follow 89-year-old Jim Gammell who sells programs and souvenirs at local sporting events. This was the first year that he had to use a walker to get around during the games.

Troops return from Iraq

Today St. Cloud Times photographer Kimm Anderson covered the last of four troop returns, after a two-year tour in Iraq. Last week I covered the return of Charlie Company to the Central Minnesota area. The resulting video had some parts I liked, and some parts I did not like. I am not quite sure why I didn’t pay more attention as I was filming the interview, I think maybe I was planning on covering it with B roll, but there is a pole coming out of his head, it’s overexposed, and not framed correctly. That being said, here it is:

Last video of June

The seventh video completed at my internship at the St. Cloud Times once again features a musical presentation.

Garden Soundslides

The fourth soundslides presentation completed so far, again self-motivated. Apparently it is the first one for the Life section of the paper. The accompanying story can be read here.

Again, Shaminder points out to me that there seems to be an audio problem. This time I believe it is because I embedded the small version, which uses the AUDIO_LO file. When I watch the presentation in its full size the running water again sounds like running water and not some weird digital noise.
